Blashphemy

I may be the only person in the blogiverse who thinks this, but

I think Noro makes hideous yarn, and that hideous yarn turns in to very expensive, very hideous garments.

Save yourself the heartache and make a scarf or a hat- horizontal stripes in muddy, blurry colors look awful on EVERYONE.

Just my not so humble opinion!

Well, I have to say that I do love my pretty pink Noro Felted Bag. But....lots of the colorways are pretty barfy. Like I'll like 9 out of 10 of the colors in the colorway and then they throw in one single one that completely effs it up!

I'm using a blue colorway of Silk Garden to (someday) make Klarlund. So many of the colorways seem muddy, but this one looks different. I made one of my convertible shrugs (http://wbnmotn.blogspot.com/2005/10/dont-read-if-youre-on-my-gift-list.html) from Silk Garden, and for the most part, I liked it.

I got some in a yarn swap and used it in a scarf. My son says the whole scarf is itchy. So I don't know if it's the Noro or Lamb's Pride.

That's the first time I've used Noro and I probably wouldn't buy it on purpose but I've seen other knitters FO's that are just beautiful. Go figure - you sure can't see its potential in the skein.
Or maybe it's the recent crop that doesn't appeal to me...
